Innovative Teaching Techniques for Sports Instructors

Duration: 25 hours (5 days)

General Objective: This intensive course is designed to enrich the skills of sports instructors through the exploration and application of innovative teaching techniques. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to engage daily with experienced educators and sports trainers from various disciplines, fostering a broad exchange of practical and theoretical knowledge. The aim is to provide concrete tools to improve teaching effectiveness, increase student motivation, and personalize learning pathways in the sports context. These sports and cultural activities offer a mix of physical exercise, cultural discovery, practical learning, and direct networking with professionals in the field, leveraging the resources of Rome and its surroundings to enrich the course program.

Activities and Tasks

The course will include group discussions led by educators, practical sessions and case study analyses conducted by sports trainers, multidisciplinary brainstorming, activities with digital tools, the design of teaching units, presentations, personal reflections, and the exchange of best practices. Each day will feature direct interaction and engagement with professionals in the field.

Course Structure (Example):

Day 1: Introduction to the course and innovative learning theories, with contributions from experienced educators.

Day 2: Exploration of active and participatory teaching techniques, led by trainers from various disciplines.

Day 3: Integration of digital tools in sports teaching, with a focus on practical applications illustrated by professionals.

Day 4: In-depth study of learning personalization and effective feedback strategies, through engagement with educators and trainers. Creation of an inclusive learning environment.

Day 5: Design and presentation of innovative teaching units, with constructive feedback from educators and trainers. Reflection on the course and planning for future implementation.

Methodology: The course will adopt an interactive and participatory methodology, focused on experiential learning and collaboration among participants and with the experts involved.

Assessment: Assessment will be based on active participation in activities, the quality of the innovative teaching unit design, and personal reflection on learning.

Certification: Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation indicating the learning outcomes achieved and the hours of training completed.

Sports and Cultural Activities in Rome and Surroundings :

  • Archaeological Run/Walk: Route through historical sites of Rome.
  • Natural and Archaeological Kayak Exploration: Kayak excursion along a lake ( Lago di Albano) stretch of naturalistic and/or archaeological interest in the surroundings of Rome.
  • Gym Boxing Session: Boxing lesson in a fully equipped gym in Rome, led by a specialized trainer.
  • Functional Training/Circuit Training in Gym: Multi-joint exercises in a gym in Rome, led by an athletic coach.
  • Obstacle Race in Ostia Antica: Obstacle course with various sports activities.
  • Visit to the Palazzo dello Sport (Sports Palace): Exploration of the facility and meeting with trainers from various sports disciplines to observe training methodologies and specific teaching techniques.
