English course for teachers​

DESCRIPTION

This course is tailored for teachers looking to enhance their English language proficiency, both for effective communication in the classroom and for personal and professional development. Through interactive lessons and practical exercises, participants will improve their English language skills and confidence.

English Basics for Educators (4 hours) – Review of essential English grammar and vocabulary. – Classroom language and instructions. – Effective communication with students and parents. – Role-play scenarios: Classroom communication practice. Building Advanced Vocabulary (4 hours) – Expanding vocabulary for teaching and discussion. – Academic and educational terminology. – Strategies for explaining complex concepts in English. – Vocabulary-building exercises and activities. Teaching English Language Skills (4 hours) – Improving listening and speaking skills. – Techniques for clear pronunciation and accent reduction. – Effective strategies for teaching reading and writing. – Practical exercises: Role-play and reading comprehension. English for Professional Development (4 hours) – Writing effective resumes and cover letters in English. – Interview preparation and networking in English. – Strategies for presenting at conferences and workshops. – Peer review and feedback on professional documents. Cultural Sensitivity and Language (4 hours) – Understanding cultural differences in language and communication. – Promoting cultural sensitivity in the classroom. – Addressing diverse language backgrounds among students. – Case studies and group discussions on cultural communication.  

Objectives and learning outputs

By the end of this course, educators will have improved their English language abilities, enabling them to communicate more effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, as well as enhancing their professional development opportunities in English-speaking contexts.   1. Enhance English language proficiency for effective teaching and communication. 2. Expand vocabulary, including academic and educational terminology. 3. Improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. 4. Develop English language skills for professional growth. 5. Promote cultural sensitivity and effective cross-cultural communication.

The educational programme will be re-organised accordingly to the professional needs of our partners. All courses proposed will pass through an accurate assesment of needs, goals and learning outputs. This process will be enhanced before every partnership request as the daily schedule.

Methodology

The course will combine theory input and discussion with analysis of practical incidents with the purpose of finding out different possible solutions. The methodology used is mainly content-based language instruction (communication through specific content).Text discussion, oral presentation and discussion, role-playing, self- and meta-reflection, debating and group interaction will be the strategies more frequently used.
