This course equips headteachers, principals, and administrative leaders with strategic tools to integrate artificial intelligence, streamline organizational workflows, and lead sustainable digital change across their institutions.

Today’s school managers navigate a complex intersection of rapid technological evolution, pedagogical change, and institutional accountability. This intensive training course addresses how educational leadership must evolve to guide entire learning communities through authentic digital transformation.
Participants will explore strategic frameworks (including the European Framework for Digitally Competent Educational Organisations, DigCompOrg) to audit their school’s digital readiness and design long-term development plans. A dedicated focus is placed on Generative AI and data-driven management: from automating routine administrative operations and predictive school analytics to establishing ethical, privacy-compliant AI policies (aligned with the EU AI Act and GDPR). Beyond tools, the course emphasizes leadership culture — managing resistance to change, promoting continuous professional development, bridging the digital equity gap, and fostering human-centered innovation.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Develop a comprehensive Digital Transformation Roadmap tailored to their institution using European benchmarking frameworks (DigCompOrg / SELFIE).
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence for institutional management, including workflow automation, resource planning, policy drafting, and school communication.
- Establish school-wide ethical guidelines and data governance covering AI usage, academic integrity, copyright, and GDPR compliance.
- Lead change management and teacher professional development, effectively overcoming institutional inertia and techno-stress among staff.
- Evaluate and select emerging edtech solutions and digital ecosystems that enhance pedagogy without compromising privacy or student well-being.
- Promote digital inclusion, cyber safety, and well-being, ensuring technology serves all learners equitably and responsibly.
- Exchange international best practices and establish European partnerships with fellow school leaders for future Erasmus+ Key Action 1 and 2 initiatives.
Methodology & Assessment
The course employs an active, participant-centered, and problem-solving methodology:
- Strategic Case Studies: analysis of successful digital transformations and AI integration models across European schools.
- Executive Simulation Labs: hands-on experience with modern AI tools, prompt engineering for administrators, and data dashboard modeling.
- Collaborative Working Groups: peer-to-peer benchmarking sessions sharing organizational policies, challenges, and solutions.
- Action Planning: guided drafting of an institutional AI & Digital Strategy plan directly applicable to the participant’s home institution.
Assessment
Assessment is practical, portfolio-oriented, and formative:
- Active engagement and contribution during daily collaborative workshops and case debates.
- Presentation of a personal School Digital Strategy & AI Governance Plan developed during the course.
- Self-reflection and peer-feedback sessions evaluating institutional readiness and transferability of learned strategies.
